Local Dayton Company to Build Food Truck Through Crowdfunding Campaign

Dayton based company iLoveStroopwafels.com has been growing ever since its launch in 2011. The time has come to further expand and the company is looking to raise funds for a food truck through a crowdfunding campaign.

Xenia, OH, July 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- iLoveStroopwafels.com makes original Dutch stroopwafels (syrup waffles) easily available in the United States by avoiding high overseas shipping costs. The gourmet stroopwafels are hand-baked in Ohio with imported ingredients to ensure the flavor resembles the original Dutch stroopwafel.

iLoveStroopwafels.com’s stroopwafels are sold through their website: www.ilovestroopwafels.com, on Amazon.com, and in stores and coffee shops in several U.S. states. Next to selling these stroopwafels online, iLoveStroopwafels.com also bakes them fresh at various events throughout the year. Last year, their stroopwafels won the Best in Sweets Award at the Columbus International Festival (CIF).

The company plans to build a Stroopwafel Truck: the first of its kind in the United States. Owner Wendy de Laat explains, “We enjoy being present on events, but it would be so useful to have our own truck instead of a simple booth. It makes us more mobile and flexible and helps us attend even more events in the Greater Dayton area and the rest of Ohio.” iLoveStroopwafels.com also plans to expand its activities with a corporate catering service. “The possibilities are truly endless,” Wendy says.

In order to achieve this goal, iLoveStroopwafels.com has turned to crowdfunding to help raise the $35,000 they need to remodel a used food truck. “I like the fact that the investors are also our fans that love our product and moreover, it helps us to create an amazing relationship with these people. They want to see us succeed as much as we do and that is a very strong combination.”

With the Stroopwafel Truck in place, iLoveStroopwafels.com will also be creating jobs in the Dayton area to expand its sales team. "We are proud to be a women-owned and operated business and with our new truck, we can offer more women the opportunity to join our team," Wendy says.
