Right at Home of Greater Sacramento Contracts with Sutter SeniorCare PACE

Sacramento, CA, July 07, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Right at Home has signed an agreement to partner with Sutter SeniorCare PACE to provide in-home senior care to its members. Sutter SeniorCare’s model of care is known as the “Program for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly,” or PACE. PACE is a state and federally funded program designed to help seniors 55 and older who qualify for nursing home care under Medicare and MediCal both in their homes and in the Sutter SeniorCare facilities. Medicare and MediCal pay Sutter SeniorCare a capitated payment for each PACE member to keep them in their own homes and out of emergency rooms and nursing homes. This is accomplished through an interdisciplinary team approach of physicians, nurses (home health/hospice), physical therapy, adult daycare, transportation, dental care, prepared meals, social workers and in-home support, both medical and non-medical. This pro-active, preventative, approach to care for the areas frail elderly is helping to stretch limited resources at a time when demand for care services continues to expand. Without the PACE program, most of the current participants of the PACE program might not be able to afford non-medical home care support, making them more prone to costly emergency room visits, or transitioning into nursing home facilities.

Sutter SeniorCare has two facilities in Sacramento that serve 34 ZIP codes, providing care to more than 250 PACE members with plans for continued growth and expansion in the Sacramento metro area. Right at Home will be a provider of non-medical in-home senior care to the PACE members. Jared Nyagol, Senior Administrator for Sutter SeniorCare PACE, stated his desire to work with a quality supplier and chose Right at Home. “Currently, there are 111 members receiving non-medical in-home care via the PACE program; however, the Sutter SeniorCare staff feels that nearly all of the members should be receiving some level of non-medical in-home care,” said Dan Parker, President of Right at Home of Sacramento. “This represents a significant opportunity for Right at Home and we look forward to providing excellent care to the members of the PACE program,” said Parker. Right at Home enjoys the ability to provide care throughout the Greater Sacramento Metro area and was a factor in the decision by Sutter SeniorCare to select Right at Home as a provider. Right at Home was founded in 1993 in Omaha, Nebraska by Alan Hager, and has grown to over 250 offices in the U.S. as well as Europe, South America, Asia, and Canada. Right at Home has four office locations in the metro Sacramento area, Sacramento, Roseville, Orangevale and Elk Grove. “We have 14 staff and approximately 400 active caregivers in the metro area,” stated Parker.

“Right at Home’s agreement with Sutter SeniorCare is a perfect example of how a strong, collaborative group of Franchise owners can be successful in a competitive market,” said Brian Petranick, Right at Home Corporate President and COO. “The Franchisees joined forces to find a new avenue for marketing their business, and all will reap the rewards for their efforts. We encourage others to follow their example so they, too, can benefit. Congratulations to everyone on your success!”
