WeCutFoam Creating Full Scale Foam Props, Sets and Decor for a Celebrity Wedding Extravaganza

WeCutFoam, a company in Silicon Valley CA that provides foam cutting services, has created custom made foam props for a celebrity wedding. The bride and groom had Medieval and Lord of the Rings as the main theme for their wedding. The foam props included ruined stone-like castle, sculptures, planters, Celtic cross and dragon, all large scale, created by cutting and machining with CNC hot wire foam cutters and CNC routers.

Sunnyvale, CA, August 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- WeCutFoam is one of the Bay Area’s leading foam cutting services company and has collaborated with a well known wedding planner company in San Francisco to create full size large scale foam props, sets, and décor for a high end medieval-style wedding. The project included cutting and machining expanded polystyrene foam, sanding, coating and painting it. The extravaganza end creation includes a 16 foot detailed Celtic cross, 4 ft high planters, Greek Gods sculptures, a large scale dragon, and a 6 sections of ruined stone-like castle, 60 feet tall.

WeCutFoam was given hand-made sketches and pictures to work with. The drawings were given to the artistic department who scanned them to full scale and made them into 3-Dimensional CAD files. CNC hot wire foam cutters and CNC routers were used to cut and machine all shapes.

The antique walls props were given special attention due to its complexity and large size. Bricks were carved in the walls, windows were created, statues and ornaments were glued onto it. Next step was to spray everything with a hard shell polyurea using a spray gun. Last phase was to paint all props using combinations of different colors blended together, to provide the “antique” look. The props were made in sections to allow for a smooth delivery to the wedding site.

The owner of Foamlinx and WeCutFoam said “Our machines were working non-stop, almost 24-7. We were in a race against the clock, since this project was given to us in quite a short notice. But, you cannot move a wedding date, you have to push to make this happen.” He continued to say, “We are the experts in making the impossible possible. This was definitely a challenge, but also a very fun experience as creating large scale foam props is what we love to do.”

WeCutFoam is not a stranger to the props world. The company has evolved from the understanding of the market need for specialty foam cutting services.
