IUVA and IOA World Congress 2013, Las Vegas: Global Experts Discuss UV Technologies

Scientists, engineers, industry leaders, researchers, state, local and national authorities will gather at the World Congress 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada from Sept. 22-26 to discuss UV technologies that disinfect water and air.

Las Vegas, NV, August 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA); International Ozone Association (IOA) are presenting a joint World Congress at the Mirage Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, September 22-26, 2013. Participants will learn more about current UV technologies that disinfect air and water. Scientists, engineers, municipal and state water authorities and industry experts will attend.

The five-day World Congress event will kick off with the keynote speaker, John Entsminger, the Senior Deputy General Manager for the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) and the Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD). Mr. Entsminger served as counsel during the Lake Meade water crisis of 2012 and maximized the use of State of Nevada water resources to help solve future water resource problems in the Southern Nevada area. Entsminger handled negotiations on these issues at an interstate and intrastate level.

Jeff Neemann, President of the IOA, said, “Each time the IUVA and IOA present the World Congress, it’s obvious that the technologies are advancing quickly and the field is expanding. World Congress attendees learn more about their colleagues, new applications and markets, and the projects underway on a global scale.”

The president-elect of the IUVA, Dr. Karl Linden, of the University of Colorado, will be present with Austa Parker, a PhD candidate and one of Linden’s graduate students. Linden and his team of researchers recently won the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Grant for $780,000 to "Reinvent the Toilet," and these presentations are sure to include updates on this project.

Some highlights of the conference include in depth research about a UV disinfection system for drinking water in Southern California. The research study spans a decade of UV disinfection methods and will be presented on September 24th. On the final day, September 26th, participants will take part in a Technical Tour of UV or Ozone facilities in use in the Las Vegas area.

This will be the third joint IOA and IUVA World Congress and Exhibition. It is a remarkable international forum for all concerned with fundamental, engineering and applied aspects oxidation techniques involving ozone and related oxidants and/or UV water disinfection techniques. Participants come from across the globe to discuss research and testing of UV technologies.Register online today for the World Congress 2013. Or, become a sponsor of the World Congress 2013.
