Jerry’s Artarama Donates Art Supplies to Benefit Orphaned and Hospitalized Children in Jamaica

Mission Trip Volunteers Deliver Art Supplies to Children in Need

Raleigh, NC, September 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Jerry’s Artarama, a national retailer of arts materials and supplies headquartered in Raleigh, N.C., donated art supplies that were distributed to children in Jamaica as part of a mission trip orchestrated by Caribbean Lifetime Missions from July 30 to Aug. 16. The missionaries, who traveled to the island nation in August, provided care for hospitalized and orphaned children in various poverty-stricken communities throughout Jamaica, including Saint Ann and Kingston.

The art supplies donated by Jerry’s Artarama included a First Impressions Complete Art Studio Set, Temporary Tattoo Dinosaur Hand Puppets, a Snazaroo Ultimate Party Pack Face Painting Kit, acrylic paint, First Impressions Kids Art Smock and brush sets. Volunteers used the art supplies with the children, and at the conclusion of the trip the remaining art supplies were donated to Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Claremont, Jamaica for children to enjoy in the future.

Other member companies who made this mission trip possible were iLoveToCreate and CRE8TIME. Omosede Ayinde, marketing coordinator for Craft and Hobby Association, a 501(c)3 that funds the CRE8TIME movement, visited Jamaica with her two children in a group of more than 20 people. CRE8TIME is a movement supported by a group of people who want to make a positive social change. CRE8TIME’s mission is to support, encourage and educate “CRE8TORS” in their personal crafting journey and to be the place for them to share, praise and be applauded by their peers. Quotes:
“Jerry’s Artarama is honored to bring happiness and creativity to children,” said Michael Marchetta, director of marketing for Jerry’s Artarama. “Art supplies are not easily acquired in many countries, and we are happy to know that many children in Jamaica, who may not otherwise have easy access to art supplies, were able to enjoy the supplies and create pieces of art that expose them to the arts.”
