Interest-Led Learning in Peru- Retreat Designed for Homeschoolers and Unschoolers of the United States
Cusco, Peru, September 07, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Project Unschool Peru (PUP) is a life-changing event designed to inspire solo teens ages 13-19, families and adults who wish to experience the magic of Peru's Sacred Valley during a two week “natural learning” retreat November 5-20, 2013. In this temporary learning community, participants follow their own interests individually and as a group, focusing on archeology, history, ethnobotany, sacred plants and medicines, agriculture, arts and music, sustainability, Andean mysticism and more. The experience will employ the concept of “radical unschooling” with which participants should be familiar, but students need not be unschooled or home schooled to participate.

The total cost for the retreat is $2500.00 USD per adult plus a non-refundable $50 application fee. Please see the website for student and child fees. The retreat cost covers flights to and from Lima to Cusco; two weeks of accommodations; and three meals per day, six days per week. Also included are required tourist tickets that include admission fees to the archeological sites throughout the Sacred Valley, museum admissions and all ground transportation. Tuition covers all talks (in English), guest lecturers, documentary screenings, improvisational theater classes, yoga classes, crafts, music, and cooking workshops. Included in the price are daily hikes led by a professional guide, guided meditations, and some surprise guests and events. Finally, participants will enjoy a guided tour to Machu Picchu with all amenities covered. Not covered are international flights, passport and visa fees, and insurance.

PUP co-creators are Americans Lainie Liberti and her son Miro Siegel, who have traveled and worldschooled since 2009 when Miro was 9 years old. They co-author the popular blog and podcast Raising Miro on the Road of Life (RaisingMiro.com) and for now, reside in Peru.
