Wilmington, NC, October 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Folks living in and around Wilmington have a solution this year to hum-drum holiday shopping. On Nov. 30-Dec. 1, holiday shoppers are invited to think artistically and locally as nearly 100 artists converge on the Wilmington Convention Center. The third annual Wilmington Art Show is a juried event made up of artists and craftsmen from North Carolina and around the country.

Held inside the Wilmington Convention Center, the show also includes the unveiling of a limited-edition poster by Wilmington artist Cheryl Snyder. Snyder began her career in pharmaceuticals with a degree in Animal Science. After a sudden life change, Snyder found a new “calling” and decided to take some photography and computer art courses. Most of her art is done in Adobe Illustrator, a program that implements hand-drawn lines, “These are not photographs with a filter add on, they are original hand-drawn illustrations,” explains Snyder about her work.

To be unveiled Saturday, Nov. 30 at 10:30 a.m., less than 100 copies of the limited-edition Wilmington poster will be available for purchase during the show. They are $25 signed by Snyder, $15 unsigned, and are ready to be framed. “I would often receive requests for particular landscapes. So, when I saw this contest, I felt it was for me,” said Snyder. Show Director Lynn Wettach adds, “Everyone from the Cape Fear Region will want to hang this poster in their home or office!”

Snyder is also an exhibitor during the third annual show, where attendees will have an opportunity to meet and support all of the artists who created the work they are exhibiting. “November 30 is Small Business Saturday, and I can’t think of a better way to support local businesses than by attending the Wilmington Art Show. From jewelry to pottery, sculptures, glass, photography and hand-woven fashions, The Wilmington Art Show is the perfect place to Shop Small®;” adds Wettach.
