Saddleback Memorial Foundation to Receive Support from Douglas/Bravo Golf Classic and Helicopter Drop

Proceeds benefit Women and Children’s Services at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center.

Laguna Hills, CA, October 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Kate and Michael Douglas and Rhiannon and David Bravo will host the 2nd Annual Douglas/Bravo Golf Classic at Tijeras Creek Golf Club on November 11, 2013 to benefit women and children’s services at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. The two families founded the fundraising event in memory of their newborns Grady Douglas and Emma and Brooke Bravo.

In late 2011, Kate and Michael Douglas of Aliso Viejo delivered quadruplets, and Rhiannon and David Bravo of Brea, delivered the first set of quintuplets to be born at The Women’s Hospital at Saddleback Memorial. The two families met and formed a friendship in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at The Women’s Hospital following the unfortunate loss of their newborns. To honor those they lost, they host an annual golf tournament to raise funds for Saddleback Memorial in gratitude for the care they received.

“Holding this tournament each year is a way for us to remember the short but significant lives of Grady, Emma and Brooke and celebrate our ‘Little Fighters of Saddleback Memorial,’” said Michael Douglas, father of Bryson, Jeana, Callie and Grady. “We also wanted to give back to Saddleback Memorial with a yearly donation to help continue their exceptional care.”

This year’s Golf Classic kicks off with a shotgun start (scramble format) and will feature a helicopter golf ball drop, dinner, awards and 18 holes of golf. Tickets are $150 per golfer and include 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls, lunch and buffet dinner. Golf balls for the helicopter drop are being sold for $10 per ball.
