Pittsburgh, PA, October 30, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- The Upper St. Clair High School (USCHS) Boys Lacrosse Boosters will be holding its first annual Turkey Shootout on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the USCHS Stadium. “We are very proud and excited to hold the first annual Turkey Shootout which will include a free youth clinic for boys lacrosse players in grades K-8, an intra-squad scrimmage between the 2013-14 High School team, and the first-ever USCHS boys lacrosse alumni game,” remarked USCHS Boys Lacrosse Booster President David Rice.
According to the new USCHS Boys Lacrosse Head Coach Brian Yates, “The Turkey Shootout is being organized to celebrate the future, current and past boys lacrosse players from Upper St. Clair. We felt it was important to bring all three generations of the boys lacrosse program together to celebrate and promote lacrosse in Upper St. Clair.”
The event will also help raise money for the It’s About the Warrior Foundation (IATW). The IATW (www.iatw.us) is committed to helping Western Pennsylvania post-9/11 wounded warriors and their families.
The youth clinic will start at 12:30 PM and is open to all new or current boys lacrosse players in grades K-8. The USCHS coaching staff, led by Coach Yates, and current USCHS players will conduct the clinic.
Following the clinic at 1:30 PM an intra-squad scrimmage will take place between the current 2013-14 USCHS lacrosse team.
The Turkey Shootout will be capped by the 2:30 PM alumni game pitting odd versus even graduation years. Says Rice, “We expect a good turnout, and as an alumnus I look forward to participating in the game myself.”
