EITAGlobal to Organize Webinar on "FCoE Direct End-Node to End-Node (aka FCoE VN2VN)"

John Hufferd, who runs Hufferd Enterprises and also consults there, will be the Speaker at a webinar that EITAGlobal, a leading continuing education training provider in the IT space, will organize on January 28, 2014. The topic of this webinar is, "FCoE Direct End-Node to End-Node (aka FCoE VN2VN)".

Fremont, CA, January 06, 2014 --(PR.com)-- This webinar provides an overview of a new Standard (to be released in 2014) called FCoE Direct End-Node to End-Node (aka FCoE VN2VN). This is a Lossless Ethernet connection directly between Adapters. This presentation will show the relationship of FCoE to FCoE VN2VN. It will explain the architecture of FCoE VN2VN, and the protocol for Discovery of partner End-Nodes and Link instantiation. The speaker will show various topologies and describe scenarios.

This session will show the fundamentals of the extended FCoE concept that permits it to operate without FC switches or FCoE Switches (aka FCF) and will describe how it might be exploited in Small, Medium or Enterprise Data Center environments -- including the “Cloud” IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) provider environments.

Fibre Channel (FC) networks have been the networks of choice for addressing Storage within the Enterprise Computing Center environment since 2000. Then in 2009 The Fibre Channel protocol was also standardized to operate on a new Lossless Data Center Ethernet Network. This was called FC over Ethernet (FCoE). Both the FC and FCoE technologies are intended for the High End of the Data Center Market.

But now a new standard (to be release in 2014) will also cover the small and medium size markets so that access to Shared Storage Controllers can be accomplished from the small to high end of the market. That is, one Storage Protocols will be used for all non-attached storage throughout the industry. This webinar will keep participants up to date in the new low cost protocol that is compatible with high end Fibre Channel and is currently shipping by several vendors.

The following areas will be covered in this session:
- General introduction into FCoE and FCoE VN2VN
- FCoE Fabrics and FCoE VN2VN relationship
- Architecture of FCoE/VN2VN protocols
- Discovery & Link Instantiation
- Topologies
- Scenarios
- Summary
