MyNorth Media partners with Becky Thatcher Designs to sell jewelry at ShopMyNorth.com

Traverse City, MI, December 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- MyNorth Media, publisher of Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine, is proud to announce its partnership with Becky Thatcher Designs, whose products will now be sold at ShopMyNorth.com, an online retail outlet operated by MyNorth Media. Becky Thatcher Designs joins a lineup of inventive Northern Michigan-based businesses that vend through ShopMyNorth.com. With a firm toehold in four Northern Michigan towns—Leland, Glen Arbor, Traverse City, and Harbor Springs—Becky Thatcher Designs’ partnership with MyNorth Media has expanded its online marketing footprint without compromising its distinctive design sensibilities that have made the company so popular in Northern Michigan.

“Northern Michigan has such an impressive array of artists and designers, and Becky Thatcher Designs is a cornerstone of that creative community,” says Deborah Wyatt Fellows, founder and president of MyNorth Media. “We’re very pleased to partner with a company that is inspired by Northern Michigan’s natural beauty and succeeds in capturing the essence of the area with every piece they produce.”

ShopMyNorth.com will feature a range of products from Becky Thatcher Designs. Available merchandise includes a series of sterling silver pendants set against Leland Blue stones, as well as several stone-adorned pocket knives and wrist-watches. A variety of earrings and bracelets—all incorporating sterling silver, bronze, or local stones—are also highlights of Thatcher’s collection at ShopMyNorth. All of Becky Thatcher Designs’ items are designed and handcrafted in Northern Michigan.

While she grew up in Ohio, Becky Thatcher relocated to Northern Michigan as a young adult and founded Becky Thatcher Designs. Thatcher’s business has since expanded one heirloom-quality piece at a time, and her use of locally sourced stones—from Petoskey stones to Leland Blue—marks her creations as uniquely Northern Michigan-made. “Local stones have an earthy, soulful quality that I just love to work with,” says Thatcher.

On their new association with Becky Thatcher Designs, MyNorth Media’s Fellows says this: “We started ShopMyNorth to let those outside of Northern Michigan experience the area’s shops that we love. Partnering with Becky Thatcher Designs is a perfect fit: this beloved Northern Michigan store is now visible to MyNorth's ever-expanding online audience.”
