Celestron(R) Reveals Revolutionary Technology and Optical Products for 2014

Consumers can discover terrestrial and microscopic wonders with an innovative 2014 lineup of telescopes, sport optics, and microscopes.

Torrance, CA, January 08, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Celestron, the world’s #1 telescope maker, is ready to transport you on a journey of exploration with its dynamic new 2014 product lineup dedicated to earthbound exploration. From terrestrial landscapes to microscopic worlds, Celestron reveals them all with the industry-leading optics and technology that have become synonymous with its trademark orange swoosh. Most exciting of all, Celestron will be unveiling an exclusive licensed-product partnership featuring an industry-changing innovative telescope that will take you on an imaginative journey deep into the origins of our universe—but you’ll have to come by the booth to experience it for yourself.

Last year, Celestron made a massive push into the sport optics market, introducing five series of binoculars and spotting scopes to suit outdoor enthusiasts of every skill level and price point. For 2014, Celestron builds upon their exponentially-growing popularity with a new line of large-aperture binoculars, as well as an expansion to a bestselling series plus new accessories:

· Assembled in the USA with extreme attention to quality and detail, Echelon is truly the pinnacle of large-aperture porro binocular design. Each of the three rugged models features massive 70 mm objective lenses, fully multi-coated optics, and BaK-4 prisms, all encased in a rubber-armored aluminum housing that adds durability and enhances ergonomics. With 10x, 16x, and 20x magnifications, Echelon lets you see far even in the dimmest lighting conditions.

· Affordable yet featured-packed, Nature DX binoculars have garnered accolades for their optical quality, consistently besting other models with much higher price tags. For 2014, Nature DX is growing in both size and number with three new large-aperture 56 mm models in 8x, 10x, and 12x magnifications.

· Celestron has made astronomical accessories for years, but now they’re turning their attention down to Earth with two spotting scope eyepieces—available in long eye relief and wide angle models—featuring our proprietary XLT fully multi-coated optics, and waterproof and nitrogen purged housings.

· The new TrailSeeker tripod is a lightweight aluminum tripod ideal for spotting scopes, with a two-way fluid pan head, quick-release plate, multiple leg angles, and more that make it infinitely adaptable for all types of terrain.

Finally, WiFi integration comes to the lab with MicroFi, the latest addition to Celestron’s cutting-edge lineup of digital microscopes. This battery-powered, handheld low-power microscope utilizes Celestron’s Micro Fi App, a free mobile iOS/Android app, to provide a live streaming feed to up to three smartphones or tablets from a range as far away as 30 feet—great for group work on a single specimen. And MicroFi’s images are as sharp as its electronics: a two-element IR-cut lens ensures correct color and clear resolution, a six-ring LED illuminator is adjustable to provide just the right amount of light, and the built-in 0.3 MP camera captures both still photos and video. It’s all contained in a durable, ergonomic housing designed to withstand continued use whether it’s at the lab, in a classroom, or out in the field.

All of Celestron’s new products will be on display at the 2014 International CES, taking place January 7-10, 2014, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
