Holly Tag & Label Install OPALTONE® Premium Color on HP Indigo
Charlotte, NC, March 08, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Holly Tag & Label Inc., leaders in delivering high-quality pressure sensitive labels and tags to all market segments including Health & Beauty, Pharmaceutical, Gourmet Foods & Automotive, today announced the installation of OPALTONE Premium Digital Color on their HP Indigo ws4500 digital label press.

“Our customers constantly demand more color saturation & POP,” states Scott Harris – Vice President Holly Tag & Label. “When Opaltone was first brought to my attention, I was skeptical. We’ve tested several expanded gamut systems that claimed to ‘better-match’ PANTONE colors, all with limited results. However, Holly Tag is never one to stop exploring. When I recently invited Opaltone to run a 6-color process trial on our ws4500, we all couldn’t believe our eyes. I was sold!”

Opaltone is an (up-to) 6-color system. Black ink is not required. Holly Tag & Label now have the flexibility to print in 4, 5 or 6-color modes:

• CMY+Blue – enhance blue gamut. No extra click. 4-color speed.
• CMYB+R (or G) – enhance reds, oranges & blues (or greens). 1 extra click. 5-color speed.
• CMY+RGB – enhance RGB gamut. 2 extra clicks. 6-color speed. White ink remains in 7th unit.

Opaltone’s user-friendly VX conversion software digitally reproduces true PANTONE colors & their CX (Photoshop) plug-in enhances RGB saturation in the label design as well. It’s the complete package.

“Often customers complain about CMYK & of course we’d love to offer true PANTONE 485 reds, 021 oranges & Reflex blues,” continued Harris. “Running analog spot colors on a digital press is an oxymoron. Customers won’t pay for them either. With Opaltone, we can finally capture those sought-after reds, oranges & blues using just CMYB+R. 5-colors also helps minimize loss of print speed.

Moreover, with HP’s ‘one-shot’ registration, black text built in CMYB or RGB mode is in perfect register. Occasionally customers request a bright PANTONE 375 or 389 green. Because the press configuration is always 7-colors (CMYRGB + white), our operators never need wash-up again! Opaltone green is simply switched on/off as needed & VX converts the corresponding Green & Yellow process values. We’re thrilled to be a part of this ‘game-changer’ in digital color,” concluded Harris.

Opaltone will be shown at Dscoop #935 from March 6-8.
