BobbleRoos Partners with Girl Scout Troop to Donate Toddler Pillows to Chicago Women’s Shelter
Gaithersburg, MD, March 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- BobbleRoos® announced today a partnership with Girl Scout Troop 20469 to donate 50 toddler pillows to be used as travel pillows to Sarah’s Circle, a women’s shelter in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago IL. Troop 20469, based out of Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, works with Sarah’s Circle as part of their service project for the Girl Scout Bronze Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can achieve and requires a service project to meet the needs of the community. Sarah’s Circle is a women’s shelter in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, IL that provides shelter and services to over 900 women a year who are homeless or at risk.

Two mom volunteers, Suzanne Karbarz Rovner and Tiffany Jozwiak, are leading the project on behalf of Troop 20469. According to Rovner, “While working with Sarah’s Circle, we have learned that while they provide blankets and linens to the residents, they do not provide pillows, largely because they are too difficult and cumbersome to carry on a daily basis, and pillows cannot be shared. Our girls thought of providing a toddler pillow to be used as a travel pillow to each of the residents since they can be packed easily. We contacted BobbleRoos about purchasing their toddler pillows.” Rovner said that her 10-year old girl scouts took the lead on this project and identified the need and planned how to execute. Renee Sirulnik, owner of BobbleRoos said, “When I heard about the service project, I thought it was a perfect way for both the Girl Scouts and BobbleRoos to give back to the community by providing a simple comfort for the women at Sarah’s Circle. We were happy to donate the toddler pillows and pillowcases to such a great service project.” Sirulnik said that BobbleRoos provided 50 toddler pillow inserts and 50 cotton flannel toddler pillowcases to the Girl Scout troop to be packaged and provided to the shelter as part of their project.
