AVA Approach is Innovative and Creates New Possibilities in Testing

Modern industrial technology still needs to be safe and as free from unanticipated maintenance as possible. Whether it is oil & gas, aerospace, marine, construction or other parts of the transport sector, analysis of vibration is used in the process of diagnosing the problems that can lead to either structural breakdown, over-worn parts or unsafe conditions. Dangerous situations can lead to accident, injury or even death.

Both design and maintenance engineers rely on vibration detecting technologies to detect vibration. If vibration is measured in a more complex manner, then things like speed of rotation, load, strain, health of each bearing, shape of parts and temperature can be understood and problems repaired or compensated for. The most commonly used measuring tools today use a one-dimensional approach to measurement. This limits both measurement and consideration to a unidirectional approach that fails to capture vibration that occurs in other planes or over time. 2D or 3D sensors are in fact two or three separate 1D sensors in one case.

AVA’s technology overcomes this by applying a unique 4D approach. The 4D approach combines measuring vibration in three dimensions and tracking vibration over time, the fourth dimension. This links vibration with the state of the structure, because the measuring principle aligns with natural physics principles. And, this richer data capture is done using many fewer sensors than are used in today’s technology.

This disruptive technology means that engineers or maintenance personnel will be able to:
· Get the same information sooner, enabling a faster and smarter response issues before they become problems.
· Have more reliable and richer information, including real-time monitoring, meaning that engineers can feel confident in acting decisively when problems arise.
· Access data regarding a larger number of defect types so that users can use less equipment, but get more information.
· Use an easy and precise evaluation of the remaining real margin of safety of materials of the mechanical system or construction.
· Able to re-think and re-design structures by reducing material costs but with higher margins of safety.

AVA Technology has Advantages over Existing Technology

In contrast to the limited information provided by the 1-dimensional approach of current technologies, AVA’s newly validated approach:
· Measures and analyzes complex vibrations and determines precisely how they arise in-situ.
· Constructs a more complete and informative trajectory image
· Creates a quantitative measure of an objects' total energy (too high energy level leads to breakage, excessive wear or accident.)
· Takes into account the spatial movement of a vibrating point (in x, y and z axes) and makes a real-time analysis in 3D so information between axes is synchronized (4D = 3D + time / synchronization)
· Provides reliable information on kinematics, dynamics and statics simultaneously

Investors and Team Ready to Move to Market

Now that the software tool is verified and a number of commercial applications identified, the AVA team is ready to expand its market. They have initial interest from companies in industries as diverse as energy production, aerospace and heavy industry and are proceeding to full commercial operations.

Verification of AVA’s 4D approach and its software tool is an important milestone for the company’s investors.
