Jiva Cubes Has Partnered with Mobile Payments Company Mahala to Offer Product Purchase Directly Through Online Video

Miami, FL, March 25, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Jiva Cubes, the instant coffee company with two breakout Kickstarter campaigns under its belt, has partnered with mobile payments company Mahala to offer product purchases directly through online video.

“This is a truly innovative approach to getting our product in the hands of new customers” says Natalia Rodriguez, co-founder of Jiva Cubes, “As fans of our product share our promotional videos, new customers can watch and buy right from the video. It’s almost like a viral ecommerce store.”

Earlier this month Mahala introduced its digital commerce platform, allowing consumers to purchase products using their smartphones. Consumers scan Mahala's S-QR codes, using Mahala's Mobile Wallet application or any standard QR code reader, to immediately and securely purchase items. At SXSW music festival, popular recording artists including Wu Tang Clan and Slaughterhouse used Mahala to sell albums and merchandise to fans through posters and flyers.

Jiva is also taking advantage of the versatility Mahala provides, making all 7 of their flavors available for purchase across a variety of media. They are including the S-QR codes in print media like flyers and magazine ads, on social media channels like Facebook and Twitter, and embedded in online promotional videos. Consumers then simply scan the S-QR code to make purchases.

Viewers watching the Jiva ad on a laptop or tablet, for example, can simply use your phone to scan the screen and complete a purchase. This creates the opportunity to transact without interrupting the video experience.

Before Mahala video was being used for branding and awareness of merchants, but did not effectively lead to a transaction. “Often when a traditional link is included in the comments or as an in-video annotation, the link is often lost when the video is shared outside of YouTube. Merchants selling products miss out on a purchase opportunity with an engaged viewer,” says Sonny Fisher, CEO of Mahala, “But with our technology the purchase opportunity follows the video wherever it is viewed.”

"It's great to work with a forward thinking brand like Jiva to introduce more people to Mahala's revolutionary commerce platform," says Ed Sztuka, President of Mahala. "We are taking deep-linking to the next level by directly engaging consumers in a secure purchase experience without taking them through a shopping cart or other links. Mahala is the better way to pay."
