So-Cal Tacos Chooses Gusto POS to Power Its Popular Food Truck

So-Cal Tacos selected Gusto Point of Sale (“POS”) running on Microsoft’s Surface tablet to power their successful food truck “Woody.” Gusto POS is a next generation, highly innovative solution built for the hospitality industry. Gusto runs on Windows 8.1-based, industry-standard hardware as well as mobile tablet computers from Dell, Hewlett Packard, and others.

Grapevine, TX, April 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- So-Cal Tacos selected Gusto Point of Sale (“POS”) running on Microsoft’s Surface tablet to power their successful food truck “Woody.” So-Cal Tacos first used Gusto POS when opening their Grapevine restaurant last December. With the addition of Gusto POS for use in their food truck, So-Cal Tacos will now have a seamless platform to manage their growing operations.

Gusto represents a revolutionary approach to restaurant POS with its unique hybrid-cloud approach enabling rock-solid operational reliability with or without internet access. Unlike so many other solutions that support modern tablets, Gusto’s software also runs on industry-standard hardware making it the right choice for mobile and light counter-service operations as well as highly complex, full service restaurants.

“We believe that modern hardware such as tablets and other mobile devices are a necessary component of any modern point-of-sale system,” says Bill Draper, founder of Gusto, makers of Gusto POS. “However, many restaurants still demand the reliability of hardware built for the harsh restaurant environment. Our solution takes full advantage of Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows 8.1, to support the widest range of POS hardware devices including mobile, tablets, and traditional hardened, fixed-position terminals,” says Draper. “Starting from a clean sheet of paper, we developed a fresh approach to the user experience, one that is thoroughly modern and walk-up-and-use simple. Prior to Gusto, no one would use POS and pleasure in the same sentence.”

The value of this approach is also echoed by Gusto’s customers. “The user interface Gusto has developed is far and away better than anything I have seen before,” says So-Cal’s Director of Operations Jacob Cornelius. “Our new employees learned the system in minutes as opposed to requiring several hours or days of training typical of other systems. We also like the fact that we can use standard hardware in the restaurant while at the same time using Microsoft’s Surface tablet in our mobile food truck.”
