BizWorld.org Partners with GoAnimate on BizMovie 2.0 Program: Kids Create Animated Videos and Gain Entrepreneurial, Business and Finance Skills

San Francisco, CA, April 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- BizWorld.org, an international non-profit providing fun and engaging entrepreneurship programs for elementary and middle school children, today announced its partnership with GoAnimate, the leading cloud-based animated video production platform, as the video creation tool to power its BizMovie® 2.0 program.

After distributing BizMovie to more than 1,300 schools and organizations around the globe, BizWorld.org has launched the improved and upgraded BizMovie 2.0. Using feedback from the hundreds of teachers who implemented BizMovie in their schools, BizMovie 2.0 features a streamlined core program with additional online resources. The program now includes updated tech tips and extension activities to provide teachers additional flexibility.

In addition, schools that purchase BizMovie 2.0 will receive a one-year subscription to GoAnimate for Schools, which allows students to create – in a secure and private environment moderated by the teacher – animated movies using drag-and-drop tools, choosing from thousands of school-safe backgrounds, characters and props. Teachers have the option to evaluate student videos prior to publishing to a secure walled garden.

“One of BizWorld.org’s goals is to increase our technology framework to engage kids with STEM programs and help prepare children for a future of financial success through technology innovation,” said Thais Rezende, CEO, BizWorld.org. “With BizMovie 2.0 and the GoAnimate for Schools platform, kids gain hands-on technology experience while having fun and building a business.”

“We’re excited to offer students in the BizMovie 2.0 program access to engaging technology that enriches the learning experience,” said Stephanie Schiff, Manager, Education Products -GoAnimate. “BizWorld.org is a great organization and partner and we’re pleased to help students get real-world experience through this program, while also making it easy for teachers to manage their students’ work in a secure environment.”

Founded in 1997 by Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tim Draper, BizWorld.org challenges and engages elementary and middle school children across the cultural and economic spectrum with fun, hands-on entrepreneurship programs that promote financial responsibility, leadership and teamwork. BizMovie 2.0 is one of several programs BizWorld.org offers for children in grades 3-8 that teaches the basics of entrepreneurship and business. With the BizMovie 2.0 project-based learning curriculum, students work in teams of six to start and run their own movie production companies. This real-world simulation gives students the opportunity to create animated movies using GoAnimate for Schools, a cloud-based animated video creation platform. BizMovie 2.0 is entirely student-driven. Students determine all aspects of their group’s movie production company; they develop the concept for their movie, create storyboards, produce it, market their film to a crowd, and sell tickets to an audience for their movie premiers. Students also manage the financial aspects of their production company and raise capital by pitching to venture capitalists and taking out bank loans.

With BizMovie 2.0, educators are provided with lessons that offer students multiple opportunities to use and interact with technology. A variety of technology activities are integrated throughout the curriculum and can be picked to best meet the needs of classrooms and students.
