Grand Canyon Tours Announces Memorial Day Weekend Specials

The summer holiday season officially starts. Get your seats now. Book in advance. Doing so can save up to 30% off retail price.

Las Vegas, NV, May 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- With the Memorial Day weekend holiday coming up, Grand Canyon Tours, the leading purveyor of National Park tours and information, announced today that it's rolling out a series of discounted, all-inclusive tours.

"Memorial Day weekend is a huge event for the Grand Canyon tour and travel industry," said Keith Kravitz, owner of Grand Canyon Tours. "It's also the true start of the U.S. summer vacation season. To get things off to a great start we slashed prices on helicopter tours."

In particular are the great deals on Las Vegas helicopter tours to the West Rim. "Be it air or landing, travelers who book in advance can and realize savings up to 30 percent off the retail price," Kravitz noted. "That hefty discount will start to drop for bookings made closer to the holiday weekend."

Las Vegas helicopters depart either form The Strip or from Boulder City and go over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. "The best value are tours that leave from The Strip," Kravitz noted. "Indeed, these packages are more expensive but each is more convenient and comes with a limo service to and from the traveler’s resort hotel."

Helicopter to the Bottom

Air-only flights are the cheapest option. However, according to Kravitz, the best deals are for flights that land. "The #1 package goes to the bottom of the Grand Canyon for lunch," he said. "Time at the base is about 30 minutes, which is sufficient time to get in a stroll to the banks of the famous Colorado River. There's also an upgrade wherein a traveler can include an actual boat ride down the River, too."

South Rim helicopter discounts will also be available. "Remember, there are no landing flights at South Rim," Kravitz noted. "Thus travelers can pick between a 30-minute and a 50-minute flight. The best is the later because it lets you see up to 75 percent of the National Park. There are others as well that can be upgraded to include a motorcycle ride or a Jeep tour.

Airplane Tours

Also for Memorial Day is the rollout of three new Las Vegas airplane tours. "Flights used to be limited but not anymore," Kravitz noted. "Today, travelers can pick packages that include the Skywalk or the helicopter and boat or all the above. It's more a la carte this way and response has been tremendous."

Kravitz also recommended considering airplane tours if certain helicopter tours is sold out. "It's not uncommon for helicopters to be booked out," he said. "This is due in part because helicopters can only hold six passengers whereas airplanes can seat up to 19 people. The other nice thing is that airplane tours are typically cheaper than helicopter rides."

In anticipation of the holiday, Kravitz recommends booking all Canyon tours, including bus trips, at least a week ahead of time. "This can't be understated," he noted. "Too many people believe last-minute bookings are possible but that's not true. Go about it this way and expect to either not get a tour or pay a premium for it. There's no in between so please purchase seats in advance."
