Saving Pandas Mobile App and San Diego Zoo Join Forces with Goal to Raise $10,000 for San Diego Zoo Global Wildlife Conservancy

Saving Pandas Game to be Showcased at Event Memorial Day Weekend at San Diego Zoo.

San Diego, CA, May 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- YANUA International, presenters of the Saving Pandas™ mobile game app and an advocate of giant panda conservation, today announced its plans to raise $10,000 for the San Diego Zoo Global Wildlife Conservancy, which is dedicated to bringing endangered species back from the brink of extinction and protecting wildlife and habitats around the world. For every download of Saving Pandas through June 4, 2014, YANUA will donate $1 to the Wildlife Conservancy. To further awareness, the game app will be showcased during Memorial Day weekend at a live event at the San Diego Zoo, giving panda lovers and zoo-goers a hands-on experience with a mobile game where players rescue baby pandas from evil space aliens in a series of twists and turns. The Saving Pandas mobile game was launched by YANUA in collaboration with China’s Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

“With the help of the public, our goal is to raise $10,000 during a six-week promotion leading up to our one-time special event on Sunday, May 25, 2014. For every download of Saving Pandas, $1 will go towards our goal to benefit the San Diego Zoo Global Wildlife Conservancy,” said Natalie Diekmann, a marketing representative for YANUA International.

San Diego Zoo guests can locate the Saving Pandas live event on the Zoo’s Front Street on Sunday, May 25, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The interactive experience will include iPad® gameplay stations, panda-themed photo opportunities and freebies including Saving Pandas tattoos. Participants can become members of the P-5 Club, named for the five original giant pandas that inspired the game and currently reside at the Chengdu Research Base, to spread the word about conservation, receive Saving Pandas updates and enjoy P-5 Club exclusives. Opt-in subscribers to the P-5 Club will have an opportunity to win one of five P-5 prize packs, which include a P-5 plush collection and a copy of Giant Pandas, Born Survivors, by Dr. Zhang Zhihe, an authority on pandas and director of the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

The game requires players to use their skills to overcome obstacles, hurdles and enemies on unfriendly planets to save baby pandas abducted by evil space aliens. Players select a P-5 hero based on the five giant pandas living at the Chengdu Research Base, each with its own personality. The game pandas represent a force for positive change in the world, and players use their panda to collect hearts during their journey. In between levels, facts help educate players about giant pandas.
