Brazil Overhead Conductors Market to Grow Due to Execution of Planned Transmission Infrastructure, Says TechSci Research

Government’s plan to connect high power demanding regions of South, South-east and Midwest with newly developed power generation sources of North and North Eastern regions to boost demand for overhead conductors in Brazil

Burnaby, Canada, June 04, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Brazil’s GDP growth rate has been comparatively lower than that of other major emerging markets such as China and India, however, the country has been investing heavily in infrastructure development, which is boosting growth in allied industries. One such segment that is growing on account of increasing infrastructure investments is high voltage transmission cables, also known as conductors, which are used for connecting power generation sources with substations, subsequent to which electricity is distributed in cities and towns.

According to a recently published report by TechSci Research, “Brazil Overhead Power Transmission Cables Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2019,” majority of the electrical infrastructure development has been witnessed in the South and Midwest regions. During 2013-17, an addition of 15,573 km has been planned by ANEEL (The National Electricity Regulator), which includes transmission projects such as Tucurui – Maccapa, Tapajos - Manaus, Minas – Cachoeir Marimbondo - Campinas and hydroelectric projects such as Salto Santiago. All these regions are located in North, Northeast and Midwest of the country, and in order to connect these power generation sources with power demanding zones, an estimated 25,000 kms of additional transmission lines are planned to be added between the period 2013-16, which translates into 500,000 km or about 1 million MT of overhead conductors.

“The demand for conductors is directly dependent on the state of progress of the power generation and power transmission projects, and currently, a number of projects are running behind the schedule. These projects are expected to catch up momentum during 2014 and 2015, thereby boosting the demand for high tension overhead cables over the next couple of years,” said Mr. Karan Chechi, Research Director with TechSci Research, a research based global management consulting firm.

“Brazil Overhead Power Transmission Cables Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2019” has analyzed the potential of the country’s overhead conductors market and provides statistics and information on market size, shares and trends. The report will suffice in providing the intending clients with cutting-edge market intelligence and help them in taking sound investment evaluation. Besides, the report also identifies and analyzes the emerging trends along with essential drivers and key challenges faced by the overhead transmission cables industry in Brazil.
