Author, Rosalyn Kahn Visits San Gabriel City Council

Los Angeles, CA, June 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Rosalyn Kahn in recent talk at CA State LA for Family Empowerment event resulted in encouraging an adult participant deciding to return to school, and, as a result of the presentation, another youngster was motivated to get her friend out of a gang.

Rosalyn Kahn attended the San Gabriel City Council meeting last evening to share the news on her latest book, “Random Acts of Kindness are Changing the World.” Ms. Kahn has been working in San Gabriel Valley during the last month with the 12th Annual Children’s Event with the Methodist Church in Baldwin Park Her speech at the Methodist Church was promoting Random Acts of Kindness, with the local church helping to bridge relationships with youth and their community.

She gave the Keynote address at the Family Empowerment Event with Advancing Social Justice at CA State Los Angeles. This festival was hosted by CA State Los Angeles worked with six inner city schools throughout Los Angeles to promote their research on serving the minority market.

During the San Gabriel City Council meeting, there were several employees who were introduced as new city employees. The local San Gabriel Library introduced their new book as part of their read for life program. The Friends of the Library brought copies of the book to each of the city council members and reported on their successful fundraiser, which brought in over $8,000.

A major draw to this meeting was a proposed sewage fee that would be levied on the customers. There were a lot of public comments that raised the question why local residents were being forced to pay more than the local businesses. Another participant read a letter from her spouse where the city council said, “They wanted to be just like the other ones in the state.” This resident reminded them most other cities were in financial trouble or mired by mismanagement. She replied, be careful what you wish for.
