Permanent Mud Run Raises Money for Veterans

Fourth bi-annual race benefits the Mission Continues.

Saint Louis, MO, June 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Battlegrounds at Cedar Lake, the Midwest's only permanent mud run and obstacle course, recently held its fourth bi-annual race and raised $5,000 for The Mission Continues.

The Mission Continues is a national non-profit organization based in St. Louis that engages veterans transitioning out of the military into community service leadership at home. Its fellowship program involves post-911 veterans serving 20 hours a week for six months at a non-profit of their choice while completing a professional development curriculum. Its platoon program has veterans of all generations working together in communities to solve local challenges.

"We were honored to team up with such a worthy organization," said Carl Bolm, owner of The Battlegrounds and Cedar Lake Cellars. "This was our biggest run - we had 850 participants plus more than 1,000 spectators - and we were very proud of our fund raising efforts."

The Battlegrounds is located at 950 State Highway 00 in Wright City, MO. next to Cedar Lake Cellars winery and event center. The mud run is held on the first Saturdays in May and October. For more information, call Bob Holm at (314) 569-3005.
