Keystone House Receives $5,000 Grant from First County Bank

On Wednesday, June 11th Keystone House, Inc., of Norwalk, was the very happy recipient of a $5,000 grant from First County Bank. This Grant will be used for Keystone’s “Home Sweet Home” initiative, a component of their Supportive Apartment Services.

Norwalk, CT, June 15, 2014 --(PR.com)-- On Wednesday, June 11th Keystone House, Inc., of Norwalk, was the very happy recipient of a $5,000 grant from First County Bank. This Grant will be used for Keystone’s “Home Sweet Home” initiative, a component of their Supportive Apartment Services. The grant dollars will assist residential services clients with the financial support needed to obtain essential furnishings and household items. Valerie S. Williams, Executive Director, spoke about one client that received a twin bed set with a headboard, chair, TV stand, kitchen cookware and cleaning supplies. “If I didn’t get this help, I would be stuck. I’ve never felt so lucky.”

This is the second year that Keystone has been awarded a grant from the First County Bank Foundation. The Foundation, which was established in 2001 to honor the bank’s 150th anniversary, contributes generously to non-profit organizations that support community and economic development; increase the availability of affordable housing and programs that support quality of life and educational enrichment for families and children.

Keystone House, founded in 1972, is a Norwalk based, not for profit that offers residential and social support services for adults facing the many challenges of a serious mental illness. Currently, Keystone House programs and services assist nearly 200 clients per year.
