L.A. Black Book Expo Celebrates Ten Years

Expo celebrates ten years of promoting celebrating the diversity of the written and spoken word.

Los Angeles, CA, July 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Los Angeles Black Book Expo, one of the longest running literary events on the West coast, will celebrate its tenth year at Los Angeles Southwest College on Saturday, September 13 beginning at 10:00am. A host of authors, publishers, spoken word artists and more will be on hand for the annual community based event.

Attendees will be treated to panels, workshops, a children's corner and the spoken word pavilion which will also feature the second annual Spoken Worlds contest. A backpack giveaway and fashion show is also part of this year's celebration. Exhibitors who register early will take part in a VIP Continental Breakfast, an Author Meet & Greet after the expo, plus the opportunity to be included in other promotional activities. Together with partners MJ Duffy & Company, Mitchell Business Solutions, Recycling Black Dollars, L.A. Southwest College and Sky's The Limit Community Development Corporation, South L.A. Saves, C.U.S.P. (Committed to Uplifting Single Parents) the expo is poised for another exciting year celebrating the diversity of the written and spoken word.

The Los Angeles Black Book Expo through their fiscal sponsor, the African Diaspora Foundation, a 501(c) (3) organization. On June 2004 the Black Book Expo was created to celebrate the written word, promote literacy and to showcase new and established authors, storytellers, spoken word artists, children's book authors, emerging writers, publishers, booksellers, editors and book reviewers local and nationwide.
