Willow Anesthesia Rebrands and Restructures for Future Growth

Full-service anesthesia solutions provider forms three entities and appoints CEO.

Oxford, MS, July 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Willow Anesthesia, a full-service anesthesia solutions provider, recently announced it would operate under parent company Willow Enterprises, which encompasses Willow Anesthesia Services, Willow Anesthesia Solutions and Willow Consulting. Its three partners, Paul Carpenter, David McCullen and Juloy Raymer, manage the firm.

"When David and I formed Anesthesia Associates of Mississippi in late 2009, we started out by providing anesthesia services for a medical center in Batesville, Miss.," said Paul Carpenter, Founder and Vice President of Customer Development, "followed by two ambulatory surgery centers and one regional hospital across Arkansas and Mississippi. Until 2013, we outsourced back office support, which included billing, enrollment and credentialing. Productivity was steadily declining, and we knew the business model had to change."

The back office processes feature substantial customer service elements. All are patient-centered, with the credentialing department affecting customers, providers and the company as a whole. Carpenter and McCullen were not satisfied with the responsiveness, professionalism or transparency of the firms they worked with to provide that support. This is essentially how Willow Anesthesia was formed.

Carpenter, clinically trained as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with extensive anesthesia management experience, and McCullen, Founder and Vice President of Quality, had the idea. They simply needed to build the systems to support it. Implementing an improved business model, onboarding Raymer and rebranding as Willow Anesthesia did just that.

Raymer, Managing Partner and newly appointed CEO, was initially asked to work in a consulting role. The two founding partners wanted to streamline the business to include the back office, and it became clear that they lacked the expertise for building a quality business operation. Raymer brought a heightened level of innovation and financial expertise, which was a welcome addition to the business.

"Juloy added the family-oriented tilt to our company, and David and I quickly bought in to her leadership style," said Carpenter. "Right away, our profits were up, patients were happy and facility partnerships were growing. It was an easy decision to transition her into the CEO role."

In her new position, Raymer is tasked with executing a corporate strategy to position Willow Anesthesia as the premier provider in the Southeast region and support a growing customer base, establishing HR policies and developing a company culture that is committed to its core values of service, quality, innovation, integrity and family.

Willow Anesthesia currently employs 14 office staff and 20 providers.
