Odyne’s Joe Dalum Presents an Understanding of Fleet PHEV Options for Medium and Heavy-Duty Trucks at Plug-in 2014
Waukesha, WI, August 07, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Joe Dalum, President and CEO of Odyne Systems, LLC, a leading manufacturer of hybrid systems for medium- and heavy- duty work trucks, delivered a presentation explaining the plug-in electric vehicle technology options for truck fleets on July 28 at Plug-in 2014 in San Jose, CA.

Dalum’s presentation discussed the medium- and heavy-duty truck market, fleet strategy, vehicle duty cycles, and how to select the best Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) solution. The presentation explained technologies for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles that reduce emissions, increase fuel efficiency, decrease engine idle time/wear and support sustainability.

During his presentation, Odyne’s president stressed the importance of duty cycle data acquisition and analysis as an excellent means to determine if a PHEV system is a good fit for a fleet’s vehicle use strategy. Dalum discussed the Green Truck Association’s Hybrid Work Truck Payback Worksheet and other considerations such as EPAct credits, work site safety, and ROI. He added other factors when comparing a hybrid, ePTO or PHEV solution, including warranty, safety, performance and applications.

The presentation was made during a day-long seminar entitled “The Economics of Vehicle-Grid Integration – Costs, Benefits & the Evolving Market.” http://www.plugin2014.com/pre-conference-seminars
