Boston, MA, November 03, 2007 --(
PR.com)-- MHPI announced that it is launching its annual fundraising effort. This year, the local non-profit has expanded its campaign to reach even more possible donors.
“Housing is at the center of everyone’s well-being, and we provide that center for special populations that are many times overlooked” remarked President Sheldon Bycoff. “While we are primarily subsidized by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, we still need help from outside sources”.
Bycoff commented that this campaign was an excellent way for people to get involved in an area in which they might not otherwise participate. MHPI specializes in developing and providing housing for special populations, among which are low-income seniors.
The funds raised from the Annual Fund campaign will go to help the many projects that MHPI runs, including its Senior Living on Bellingham Hill located in Chelsea and properties throughout the Greater Boston Area housing individuals with mental illness, mental retardation and HIV/AIDS.
The funds will also go towards their newest project, Senior Living at Prouty. Located in Spencer, MHPI will be converting the former David Prouty Intermediate School into a 36 unit housing development for very low-income seniors.
The campaign began on October 26 and will continue throughout the holiday season.
