Resort Travel & Xchange Supports Advancement of Young Professionals

Orlando, FL, October 25, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Resort Travel & Xchange recently hosted a Timeshare Industry Young Professional event in the Smoky Mountains region of Asheville, NC.

Resort Travel & Xchange (RTX), a leader in the timeshare and vacation ownership exchange industry with approximately 80,000 members, has helped launch a new chapter of American Resort Development Association’s (ARDA) Timeshare Industry Young Professionals (TIYP) in the Smoky Mountains region. The first event took place in Asheville, North Carolina, on July 31, 2014, which will be the chapter’s new home-base.

A pioneer in the timeshare and vacation ownership exchange industry, RTX is owned and operated by a team consisting primarily of young professionals, and provides its members with a large selection of exchange options worldwide. RTX is an extraordinary driving force behind the newest chapter of TIYP, as it supports the growth of future business leaders for the timeshare industry.

TIYP is a group of young industry professionals working for ARDA member companies who are 35 years old and younger. This new group was created to provide opportunities to grow careers professionally and personally through education, experience, and networking. Attending local TIYP chapter events is a great way to branch out and meet the next generation of innovators.

Over 20 people from three different companies attended the first event, representing a wide variety of people with different levels of experience—ranging from call center representatives to directors, managers, and vice presidents.

The brief presentation given by RTX was very well received. The company spoke about the opportunities ARDA provides for employees through educational advancement and professional development opportunities. After the presentation, there was ample time for networking which helps build relationships that, in the future, may help to grow several careers. Networking with peers also drives the present growth of these young professionals who want to gain more knowledge, experience and skills.

“We are happy to help coordinate ARDA’s TIYP events for our area,” said Corina Violette, Director of Resort Partnerships for RTX. “With such a young and enthusiastic employee base here, these individuals can learn about the educational resources available to them through ARDA while networking with peers in the industry. This not only helps their own careers but also strengthens the companies they work for and the industry overall.”

Following the success of the first event, the chapter intends to expand by gaining more members within a three hour radius outside of Asheville, NC. There are also plans to invite high power speakers with executive leadership positions who started in lower level positions to share stories of their career advancement at future events. The chapter ultimately hopes these events will turn into full conferences in the future.
