Industrial Flooring Company’s Rapid Growth Demands Move to New HQ at Wyboston Lakes

Acrylicon, one of the world’s fastest growing industrial flooring specialists has moved it’s UK headquarters to The Knowledge Centre at Wyboston Lakes in Cambridgeshire.

Cambridge, United Kingdom, October 31, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Developed in Norway in 1978, Acrylicon’s ultra hard wearing and hygienic resin flooring system is now managed in the UK by local entrepreneur Adam Clements who took over in 2010. Based in a small office in St Neots, the UK operation has grown to a turnover in excess of £5M in just 4 years and now has 8 additional licensees and employs over 25 people.

“We didn’t expect such a meteoric growth in our business when we set up, but it has been well received by establishments that need high standards of durability and hygiene such as Food Factories, Michelin-starred restaurants and major supermarkets including Asda,” said Clements.

As Acrylicon’s special formula of resins is fluid, it can be poured so large areas can be covered very quickly and seamlessly. It cures rapidly and produces a floor with market leading compressive strength, which makes it extremely hard wearing and ideal for large areas which are subjected to tough mechanical wear. It also results in a finish that is completely pore free so it not only looks good, but has a cleanability similar to Teflon or stainless steel, which is important where hygiene is a critical factor.

Clements added, “The rapid growth of the business meant we needed larger office accommodation, but as we have visits from executives of major corporations and hold regular meetings and training events, we wanted a prestigious location which had the professional image and first class facilities that reflects the high quality of our flooring products. Wyboston Lakes fitted the bill and we have moved into our own self contained HQ building – Acrylicon House. It was already fully fitted with high speed communication links and all the business facilities that we need for training and entertaining are close at hand. There are restaurants and accommodation on site, as well as a range of support businesses and after a hard day’s work staff or visitors can chill out at the fitness centre, the 18 hole golf course or if more adventurous, zip around on jet skis and wet bikes at the water sports centre. More importantly, Wyboston Lakes offers the flexibility to accommodate our planned expansion during the next phase of our development as part of a successful international business.”
