Top 100 Global Finalist Help US Businesses Connect to Asia; Looking for US Businesses to Partner With

EdTech company SMATOOS is looking to connect US businesses to the Asian market. They will be in Los Angeles from November 18-25 to compete for a Top 100 Global award in innovative technology and global market strategy.

Los Angeles, CA, November 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Seoul-based EdTech startup SMATOOS, announced today that it has been selected as a candidate for Red Herring's 2014 Top 100 Global award, a prestigious recognition honoring the year’s most audacious and far-reaching private technology companies and entrepreneurs from across the globe.

SMATOOS connects US businesses to the Asian enterprise market using their popular BeNative service. BeNative interviews top-level executives of various American businesses, ranging in industry from hospitality to manufacturing, and films their employees performing typical duties. These videos are then provided as English-learning material for employees of major Asian companies in China, Japan, and South Korea. The videos not only help Asians improve their English communication skills, but provide opportunities for US businesses to reach out to potential clientele coming from these Asian economic powerhouses.

The educational company is now in talks to provide their service to major corporations such as Sony, Samsung, LG, and Hitachi, and already has 500,000+ downloads for its BeNative apps during beta testing. They have received $3 million in funding so far from Asian investors.

Due to recent recognition and the success of current collaborations with top companies from San Francisco and New York, SMATOOS is currently looking for more businesses to partner with, starting with the LA area. They have acknowledged that although this is a great opportunity for global exposure, there is currently no plans to charge for this service.

The Red Herring 100 awards have recognized more than 5,000 companies in their early stages, including Baidu, Google, eBay and Skype. The candidates are judged on a range of criteria including technology innovation, financial performance, and potential globalization of the strategy. The finalists will present their winning strategies at the Red Herring Global forum in Los Angeles, Nov. 18 to 20.
