Pine Grove, PA, November 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Architectural Products’ Product Innovation Awards (PIAs) determine and honor innovation in the development and refinement of buildings-related products that range the gamut from cladding systems to interior finishes. Judged by a group of 50 independent industry professionals, the program represents a mechanism to impartially review and present products to readers that their peers found innovative and worth investigating.

Solar Innovations, Inc. and the Universal ® Clamp have been named a winner in this year’s Product Innovation Awards in the Solar Control/Shading category.

“Building on the success of last year’s program, our fourth edition of the awards proves commercial building manufacturers are committed to, and are working arduously toward, delivering more sustainable products, as well as products that deliver better performance, life and affordability,” said Jim Crockett, Editorial Director of Architectural Products Magazine.

Architectural Products aimed to recognize manufacturers who demonstrated outstanding leadership across many different platforms, be it education, sustainability initiatives, standards developments, etc. Solar Innovations, Inc’s family of Universal ® Clamps provides customers with simple, dependable, tested clamping solutions for attaching loads to any standing seam, metal roof. The Solar Innovations, Inc. Universal ® Clamp is designed to attach loads to flanged materials and standing seam roofing by using an innovative design that allows for continuous pressure contact against the attachment surface. This innovation prevents damage to the roof, while balancing the load over the span of the clamp not on isolated points of contact.

Products were assigned judges - a diverse body including architects, interior designers, lighting designers and veteran A/E/C writers - based on their expertise and interest. Judges were asked to simply assign a numerical grade to each entry and comment on particular aspects of the product they found innovative or intriguing.

In the November issue of Architectural Products, this year’s most innovative product introductions will be released.
