Featuring a cast of 105 children and adults, the Red Chair Children’s Production Company performers will bring to life, “The Nutcracker,” the enchanting storybook tale of a young girl’s magical Christmas Eve that takes her, and audience members, on a delightful and exciting journey.
The Red Chair is also offering an exclusive holiday experience, the Land of the Sweets, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Enjoy live classical music, an array of desserts, festive holiday beverages, meet Clara the star of the ballet, the Nutcracker and other characters from the show. Admission to the Land of the Sweets is $55 per person and includes premium seating at the show. Founded in 2005 by four Burbank parents, the Red Chair Production Co., is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit production company that creates extraordinary theatre and dance experiences for children ages 5 to 18 years. In its 2006-2007 season, it presented its now annual holiday production “The Nutcracker” and in the spring, it presented Disney’s “High School Musical.”
Red Chair also provides live performing arts programs to local schools and communities. For the second year in a row, the Red Chair will present a free, daytime school performance of “The Nutcracker” to an audience of children from public and private schools throughout the San Fernando Valley. The field trip to the legendary Alex Theatre will give young students the opportunity to experience the art of ballet in a live performance.
