Urgent Care X-Ray Image Database is First of Its Kind
Atlanta, GA, December 17, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Institute of Urgent Care Medicine, a leader in urgent care education, has partnered with national teleradiology company Teleradiology Specialists to produce the only comprehensive online database of urgent care X-ray images. This is the first database to provide easy, point-of-care X-ray comparison and reference to images of pathology frequently encountered in the urgent care setting.

“To date, there has not been a reference for urgent care X-rays,” said Dr. Lee A. Resnick, Founder of the Institute of Urgent Care Medicine and experienced urgent care educator who designed and peer reviewed the curriculum. “With the online format and software interface of the X-ray database, the clinician can quickly search and compare right at the point of care.”

The searchable reference tool contains more than 300 X-rays, curated to cover the core content of images in the urgent care practice setting. Each image contains a description that highlights the pathology present.

Several of the online films also have pearls and pitfalls where relevant, to assist urgent care physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners to better understand the clinical decision-making implications.

Images were peer-reviewed and selectively labeled by Dr. David Cohen, Founder and CMO of Teleradiology Specialists.

“Great effort was made to compile an urgent care specific core curriculum that served as the framework and guide for the content development,” Dr. Resnick said. “This approach ensures greater urgent care relevance and focus.”

Medical providers can access the database by registering for the Core Content in Urgent Care Medicine Online CME program at www.urgentcarecme.com and as a special benefit to clients of Teleradiology Specialists, www.teleradiologyspecialists.com.
