Momentum Telecom CFO Tapped as Top 40 Under 40 Business Professional
Birmingham, AL, February 14, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Momentum Telecom, a leading provider of hosted VoIP, broadband services, and unified communications, announced today that CFO Matthew Conroy is being honored by the Birmingham Business Journal with the distinction of being named to the Top 40 Under 40 list for 2015.

The award recognizes Conroy as one of the most talented young business professionals in the Birmingham area.

“To say that Matthew is an asset to our organization, our channel partners, and our customers is an understatement,” Momentum Telecom President and CEO Bill Fox said. “This award recognizes what we have known all along: Matthew is a game-changer with a vision that has made and will continue to make a tremendous impact on people’s lives.”

Conroy joined Momentum Telecom in 2012, during a critical growth phase that included the successful acquisition and integration of Integrated Broadband Solutions into Momentum Telecom. The acquisition tripled Momentum’s employee base and created a foundational platform that enabled future acquisitions and organic growth. Altogether, under Conroy’s CFO leadership, Momentum Telecom has witnessed more than a 200 percent revenue growth.

“No CFO goes it alone,” Conroy said. “I share this award with my colleagues at Momentum Telecom, with our channel partners who are driving business to new heights, and with our customers who inspire us to consistently deliver industry-leading solutions and services.”

Conroy, who has more than a decade of experience in the investment banking, investment management, and corporate finance industries, previously held positions at Lehman Brothers and Time Inc. Consulting stints found him working on telecom mergers that included Bell Atlantic/GTE, AT&T, and Sprint.

“I always will be grateful that the late Mr. Bill Featheringill invited me to interview for the CFO position at Momentum Telecom,” Conroy said. “It was a life-changing moment where everything fell together. My family and I haven’t looked back since.”

Conroy earned his Bachelor’s from Washington University in Saint Louis, and he graduated Magna Cum Laude, Order of the Coif, from Cornell Law School with a Juris Doctor and a concentration in corporate law and taxation. Conroy was the Co-Chair and on the Board of Directors for the Community Roots Charter School in Brooklyn, NY for almost five years.

Conroy resides in Mountain Brook, AL, with his wife and two children.
