LAX Airport Doctor Named "Physician of the Month" by American College of Urgent Care Physicians
Los Angeles, CA, March 23, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Max Franklin Lebow, the Medical Director of LAX Airport Medical Clinic and Reliant Immediate Care Medical Group president, has been named “Physician of the Month” by the American College of Urgent Care Physicians (ACUCP) for his community involvement and professional leadership. “That rumble you hear is not an earthquake,” said Dr. Ali, president of ACUCP. “It’s just Dr. Max Lebow making a difference in California. He knows the business end of urgent care medicine, and consumer advocacy lights up his resume. He’s was a shoo-in for this award.”

Dr. Lebow, former Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood, has a resume marked by patient and consumer advocacy. He serves on the Travelers with Autism committee at LAX International Airport and works to educate the transportation industry about travelers with disabilities and the Americans with Disabilities Act. He routinely gives lectures to the public on issues of health and wellness for seniors and speaks to business leaders about healthcare issues important to them. He champions individuals in recovery and works to provide the under served community with access to quality healthcare resources.

Former Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa honored Dr. Lebow with an LA Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the Department of Disability for his advocacy for the disabled community. He was also commended officially by the City of Inglewood for working to improve health care for the under served in that community.

Under Dr. Lebow’s leadership, Reliant Immediate Care has become one of the busiest urgent care centers in the country, treating 5,500 patients per month, and up to 300 patients a day on its busy days. “The medical center staff and I are dedicated to go the extra mile,” says Dr. Lebow. “We want to provide convenient quality care in a family-oriented environment, looking out for those who might otherwise fall through the cracks.” Dr. Lebow and his team have also begun taking medical care directly to the workplace, with Reliant’s new Healthy@Work© workplace health and wellness project. Reliant Urgent Care has recently become a teaching site for the UCLA Nurse Practitioners training program where Dr. Lebow is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Nursing.

Among his current business interests, Dr. Lebow serves as President and Medical Director with LA’s Insight Practice Partners, Inc., a leader in Revenue Cycle Management services for urgent care and occupational medicine markets. Insight’s software streamlines coding, billing, collections, reimbursement, and case appeal protocol to optimize clinic financial performance in the ever-changing health care system.

A West Virginia University alumnus, Dr. Lebow earned his Medical Degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1979, where he was class president, and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Charity Hospital of New Orleans, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Lebow has continued his studies, completing a Masters of Public Health from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and a Masters of Business Administration from the W. Edwards Deming School of Business, William Howard Taft University.

Dr. Lebow is double board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and American College of Preventive/Occupational Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Urgent Care Physicians, The American College of Preventive Medicine, the California Academy of Preventive Medicine, the LA County Medical Association, the California Medical Association, and the American College of Emergency Physicians, the LA County Emergency Department Directors Association, and the American College of Physician Executives.

With ACUCP’s March 2015 “Physician of the Month” recognition, Dr. Lebow will be among the ACUCP members considered for this years “Physician of the Year” award.
