Misty Wien Launches Anti-Bullying Movement "Stand Up, Stand Proud"

San Diego, CA, May 22, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Misty Wien launched “Stand Up, Stand Proud,” an anti-bullying program for both schools and companies that aims to encourage people of all ages to proudly stand up for who they are or for those who can’t. The program strives to create safer working and learning environments that positively promote compassion and inclusivity. Misty believes that with a positive mindset, self-awareness and resiliency, it is possible to create safer, healthier businesses and schools.

Bullying has become worse and more evolved over the years. Studies have revealed that more than 3.2 million students are victims of bullying or cyber bullying each year. One in four teachers doesn’t even see it when a student is being bullied. Bullying, however, doesn’t only happen in schools. It can happen in the workplace too.

As part of the anti-bullying movement, Misty will be conducting anti-bullying school and workplace tours to teach everyone how to stand up for themselves and for others. The program teaches the benefits of moving from a victim or bystander to being a person who brings changes. It is supportive where the perpetrators are isolated and guided on how to change their ways and become good members of the society, but zero tolerance is implemented when it comes to harassment and bullying. Stand Up, Stand Proud addresses the main problems and helps everyone understand that aside from the victims, the bullies need assistance too. Students are advised to unlearn old habits and negative thoughts to lead positive behaviors and a happier life. They are empowered to be empathetic, considerate and compassionate. Misty also aims to intervene, eliminate and prevent bullying behaviors in the workplace in order for an organization to run efficiently and productively.
