PrivatePlus Mortgage is Participating Lender in BeltLine Affordable Housing Program

The Atlanta BeltLine, in conjunction with Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, is offering two programs to assist with affordable housing within a 0.5 mile radius along the Atlanta BeltLine.

Atlanta, GA, June 06, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Did you know that the Atlanta BeltLine, in conjunction with Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, is offering two programs to assist with affordable housing within a 0.5 mile radius along the Atlanta BeltLine? Atlanta-based PrivatePlus Mortgage is a participating lender in this great initiative.

One of the BeltLine Housing Initiative Programs (HIP) is focused on down payment assistance of up to $45,000 for new home buyers and is available along the entire BeltLine corridor, while the other program is focused on assisting existing homeowners with up to $25,000 in renovation funding and is available only along the Westside Trail. Households must earn under 80% of HUDS’s Area Median Income to qualify.

The 2015 program is limited to 25 houses – 15 of which will be allocated toward down payment assistance and 10 of which will be allocated towards renovation funding. And down payment assistance recipients can additionally “bundle up” with other down payment assistance programs.

“We’re excited that the Atlanta BeltLine is teaming up with local lenders like us through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta to improve affordable homeownership opportunities in BeltLine neighborhoods,” says Dan Smith, President of PrivatePlus Mortgage. “The first step in the process is getting pre-qualified, and we’ve designated two of our mortgage pros to help with that.”

Smith says PrivatePlus has designated Tony Rogers (NMLS # 231751), 404-390-1873 or TRogers@PrivatePlus.com, and Carl Robins (NMLS # 6903), 404-307-2441 or CRobins@PrivatePlus.com, as BeltLine HIP leads.

“Tony and Carl not only can help you understand the process and get you pre-qualified, but also are knowledgeable about other programs, should the BeltLine HIP not be the right fit for you,” Smith says.

There are income and other eligibility requirements, and you can learn more by visiting http://fhlb.beltline.org/, but the easiest way to proceed is by contacting a participating lender, like PrivatePlus’ Rogers or Robins. (Their compliance folks would also like them to add that offer of credit is subject to approval.)

Each year, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta sets aside 10 percent of its annual net income to invest back into its members' communities through the Affordable Housing Program. “PrivatePlus is proud to partner with the FHLB, as we too are committed to the communities we serve.”
