Texal Energy Helps KapStone Container Reduce Energy Consumption with 200,000 Square Foot LED Lighting Retrofit

The Company Will Reduce Energy Costs by Over $242,000 in One Year While Improving Quality of Light and Working Conditions for Employees.

Dallas, TX, June 13, 2015 --(PR.com)-- KapStone, one of North America’s leading producers of unbleached Kraft paper and corrugated packaging products, was interested in new LED lighting for their manufacturing space. However, with the growing interest in LED Lighting comes a flood of new products on the market making it increasingly difficult for businesses and organizations to select the right lighting for their specific needs. Because of this, KapStone turned to the LED energy experts at Texal Energy to help guide them through the entire retrofit process.

Texal Energy retrofitted nearly 200,000 square feet of manufacturing space with new technology T5 fluorescent high bay fixtures. These fixtures featured cutting-edge technology, including advanced infrared occupancy sensor capabilities able to read motion from over 60 feet at 360°. By replacing metal halide (MH) fixtures with high efficiency T5 high bay lights, KapStone saved over 50% on their energy expense while increasing light output by over 35% to help increase employee working conditions. The company reduced its electricity bills by an astonishing $242,000 in just one year and is expected to produce over $1.8 million in lifetime energy savings.
