Fayetteville Motor Speedway Chosen as Only NC Stop on Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series 2015 Tour

This epic event – dubbed the 2015 Dunn-Benson Ford Wayne Gray Memorial, will draw motorsports’ most devoted dirt track fans and drivers from all across the country.

Fayetteville, NC, June 13, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Fayetteville, NC is about to get a little ‘louder’ and take the national spotlight on Thursday, June 18, 2015, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series makes its only North Carolina venue stop on their 2015 tour at Fayetteville Motor Speedway.

“It takes a lot of preparation and consideration to be selected by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series team for a tour stop. We are proud of our historic track, excellent facilities and this great community. We cannot wait to host this event. Our die-hard fans and new fans are in for a real treat,” said Fayetteville Motor Speedway owner/promoter, Jim Long.

This epic event – dubbed the 2015 Dunn-Benson Ford Wayne Gray Memorial, will draw motorsports’ most devoted dirt track fans and drivers from all across the country.

The nation’s best super late model drivers will be slinging the dirt in their 800 horsepower V-8 cutting edge vehicles such as: recent Eldora Speedway Dream Sweep winner, Jonathon Davenport, the legendary Scott Bloomquist, 3-time National Champion, Jimmy Owens, Earl Pearson Jr., Don ‘the Real Deal’ O'Neal, the ‘Kentucky Colonel’ Steve Francis, Dennis Erb Jr., the ‘Rajun Razorback’ Jared Landers and ‘Salt Rock Express’ Eddie Carrier Jr. The night will also feature Late Model, Diet Mtn Dew Modifieds, Pure Street and Super Street divisions.

Current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series points leader, Jonathon Davenport, just coming off his biggest career win in the $100,000 Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway, OH, is a ‘hometown’ hero of sorts staying with friends, family and drivers as he cut his racing teeth. He’s frequented Fayetteville Motor Speedway over the years in a variety of different rides.

“I can’t wait to come back to Fayetteville,” said Davenport, who is the winner of six consecutive races. “We don’t get to race in NC very often, actually our shop is just up the road in Trinity so it will be awesome to get to race in front of a great local crowd.”

With a $10,000 purse on the line, drivers will be battling to the finish in $80,000 machines that provide dirt slinging, sideways, door-to-door racing action lap after lap. The 'in your face' excitement of a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event is second to none in motorsports, and Fayetteville Motor Speedway in one of the premier facilities in the nation to host an event of this magnitude.
