Suicides and Substance Abuse in the Military

Listen to the conversation about resources and support to try to combat the growth of suicides in the military. Where does substance abuse and misuse come in? How do we help not only the veterans and active military, but also their families?

San Diego, CA, July 23, 2015 --(PR.com)-- This week on "Addicted to Addicts: Survival 101" on webtalk radio, Denise Krochta, host of the show, interviews Randy Brown who heads a new non profit called Pointman. The goal of this organization is to help military, both active and veterans, to navigate through the sometimes frustrating and difficult VA system as well as offer support in other ways. Suicides are escalating in the military and after deployment, as well as substance abuse and misuse, and this group hopes that helping with even the smallest, mundane but sometimes the most frustrating issues can help cut down on the statistics.

Just this past week, with the shootings in Tennessee on the forefront of our minds, we see, again, something to add to the lists of fears, frustrations, and concerns specific to our military and veterans. How can we help?

Listen to this interview and let's think about how we can help our heroes.
