Oddessa.com CEO and Head Oddsmaker, Joey Oddessa, Makes Ronda Rousey a Huge Favorite Over Miesha Tate
Las Vegas, NV, August 03, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The roars from Ronda Rousey’s incredible knockout victory over Bethe Correia at UFC 190 are still echoing through the world of mixed martial arts, and already one MMA oddsmaker is looking ahead to the bantamweight champ’s next opponent.

Renowned MMA oddsmaker Joey Oddessa of Oddessa.com is the first in the industry to release MMA fight odds on the expected third meeting between Rousey and No. 1 contender Miesha Tate, opening the undefeated Rousey as an 11/1 favorite (-1,100).

“Ronda Rousey is a phenom. You don't see this kind of dominance in sports often,” says Oddessa. “Known for her unstoppable arm-bar finishes and judo background, she's been getting praised for her stand up skills from past superstars like Mike Tyson.”

No official date is set for this trilogy, with the two facing each other back in 2012 and 2013, however speculation is that Rousey-Tate 3 could co-headline a card with the long-expected featherweight matchup between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor. Having a huge card will only inflate the action on Rousey’s bout, as she quickly becomes the face of the sport and one of the largest public favorites in all of sports betting.

Rousey took the first meeting with Tate during their tenure in Strikeforce back in March 2012, scoring a submission win via arm bar 4:27 into the first round as a 4/1 favorite. These rivals clashed again at UFC 168, with Rousey locking in her trademark arm bar for a third-round win in December 2013. She opened as an 11/1 fave and was bet down as low as 7/1 on fight night.

Since then, Rousey has laid waste to four straight opponents, including Correia who was KO’d just 34 seconds into the fight in Brazil this past Saturday. Tate has also put together a four-fight win streak since losing to Rousey a second time, most recently taking a decision victory over Jessica Eye at UFC on Fox last month.

“Ronda Rousey is still every bit of the 11/1 favorite she was in 2013,” says Oddessa. “They may bet her down again to 8/1 or even lower with the typical gambler 'value' argument, but there's no value in a losing wager. Tate's a live underdog that won't win, as I like to call them. The third time won't be any different.”
