Hartford, CT, August 28, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy issued a proclamation naming September 1st, 2015 Connecticut Author's Day, the same day of the official publication of Garrison Leykam's new book, "Postcards from the Highway of Life."

Leykam and his book will be featured at the Hartford Public Library that day from noon to 3pm to kick off the library's Author's Table, a new monthly series for the public to engage in conversation with local authors. Garrison will be donating a copy of his book for the library's new local authors' shelf.

Just like vintage postcards capture and share in pictures the memories of a favorite road trip, Postcards from the Highway of Life captures in words the people, places and things that have influenced author Garrison Leykam on the experiential highway of his life. Postcards from the Highway of Life is simple, profound wisdom served in heaping portions of nostalgia, memories and the very stuff of what makes life meaningful.

Author Garrison Leykam is an AARP card carrying, motorcycle riding baby boomer, producer, author, stand-up comic and TV radio host.

"Garrison Leykam in his wonderful and erudite Postcards from the Highway of Life has done a beautiful capturing of America the Beautiful. His work demonstrates how this country at that time produced the Greatest Generation." Ed Asner, actor and winner of 7 Emmy Awards

"A reminder of how quickly we forget to appreciate some of the simpler joys of living. A pertinent look at the not too distant past." John Mayall, blues legend

"It's equal parts parenting guide, existential call to arms, travelogue and autobiography infused with Americana, nostalgia, wisdom and wit." Ramani Durvasula, media commentator and contributor to CNN, HLN, E! and Bravo.
