Geoff Notkin Delivers TEDx Talk at Switzerland’s Institut Le Rosey
Tucson, AZ, December 05, 2015 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, November 14, Emmy-winning television host and action scientist Geoff Notkin commanded the stage at Institut Le Rosey, delivering an inspiring TEDx talk to the students, faculty and staff of the prestigious Swiss boarding school, along with students of Aiglon College, other prominent Swiss schools, and the general public.

Institut Le Rosey is considered one of the most exclusive educational institutions in the world. It is known as the "School of Kings" for its impressive list of alumni, including the Shah of Iran, Prince Rainier of Monaco, and King Farouk of Egypt.

Notkin spoke to a packed house in the Rosey Concert Hall, providing an enlightening and entertaining talk entitled, "Meteorites: Life, Death, and Hope on Earth." His presentation featured striking original photographs, including many from location filming of the award-winning Science Channel television series "Meteorite Men," which he hosted for three years.

The TEDx talk covered a wide array of topics, including meteorite types and parent bodies, meteorite surface features, chondrule formation, extinction events, asteroid mining, the influence of meteorites on spacecraft design, and more. The complete video of Geoff’s talk is available for viewing now on YouTube at https://youtu.be/eUznJ3LtvGc.

"For me, the most remarkable part of this extraordinary TEDx event was the fact that the audio, video, technical, and stage management crews were made up largely of young students from local schools and colleges," said Notkin. "This type of out-of-classroom, hands-on learning experience is precisely what I encourage and promote in my work as a STEM / STEAM advocate. I salute Intitut Le Rosey, Aiglon College, and the other participating schools for their leadership in modern education and for including their students in the TEDx experience."

Notkin’s visit to Institut Le Rosey was just one of over 40 speaking engagements on his 2015 "Weird Earth Orbit Tour." Along with appearances across the US, he spoke at venues in Canada, Germany, Switzerland, England, and Scotland this year.

Aside from Notkin’s TEDx talk, a highlight of the recent trip was speaking at the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium at the National Space Center in Leicester, England. The planetarium was named after the famed British astronomer and former host of BBC's "The Sky at Night," who was a childhood hero of Notkin’s and helped inspire his career as a television host and science communicator.

In addition to his busy speaking schedule, Notkin, an award-winning author, recently published his third book, "My Incredibly Strange and Amazing Real-Life Adventures in the World of Comic Books." The book chronicles his years spent in Manhattan during the Bronze Age of comics, working with titans of the comic book industry such as Neil Gaiman, Will Eisner, Harvey Kurtzman, Art Spiegelman, and many others.

Strictly limited to 250 handcrafted, personally signed and numbered copies, with exclusive tipped-in color panel, the book is available for holiday gift-giving at www.geoffnotkin.com/books.
