Olympic Track Coach Discusses Rekortan Track Surface in New Video
Harmony, PA, February 02, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Harvey Glance knows track and the surfaces on which the sport runs. A three-time Olympian and coach of the 2012 400m Olympic champion, Harvey sat down recently with Gary Wilson of Advanced Polymer Technology to discuss Rekortan, the track surface “powered by speed.” The resulting video covers issues related to training and racing, and how track surface can make a difference. Backdrop for the discussion is Rekortan’s recent resurfacing of the University of Pennsylvania’s Franklin Field track, home of the Penn Relays. The video is available on YouTube and on Rekortan’s website sportsbyapt.com/brand/rekortan/

“Today’s athlete needs not only shock absorption, which most people hear about, but also energy return,” said Harvey Glance. “You’ve got to give back to the body. Once your foot goes down, you have to have more energy back into the body which gives you the ability to compete and train at a better rate.”

The Rekortan track at Franklin Field will be used through the spring track season, highlighted by the Penn Relays in April. The Relays attract elite racers from around the world.

For more information about training issues and how the surface matters, follow APT Sports on Facebook, Twitter or Linkedin as the spring season approaches. Information about training issues as well as how track surfaces affect athletes will be shared, plus a countdown to the Relays in April.
