Turning Point’s 2016 Race for Life 5K Run/Walk Scheduled for April 30th

Turning Point’s 2016 Race for Life 5K Run/Walk Scheduled for April 30th
San Diego, CA, March 31, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Turning Point Pregnancy Resource Center (TPPRC) recently announced their upcoming Race for Life event. Turning Point, a non-profit and community-based pregnancy clinic in northern San Diego, relies on donations and fundraising events like the Race for Life to keep their services free of charge for women and men facing crisis pregnancies.

“We depend on generous donations from people in the local community,” said Turning Point’s Debbie Thomas, who helped plan the event. “Our 2016 Race for Life is one of the biggest fundraisers we’re putting together this year, and it will help us to continue offering cost-free programs and services to anyone who walks through our doors.”

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 30th at the Canyon Crest Academy on 5951 Village Center Loop Road in San Diego. Participants can choose between a 2-mile walk or 5K run. Registration starts at 7:00 AM.

The Race for Life will also include a silent auction, food trucks, live music and other family-themed entertainment and more.

“This is a great opportunity to come out and support a worthy cause that is making a difference in the lives of women and men in our community,” said Camille Cassin, Executive Director of Turning Point. “We use every dollar from fundraising events like this one to support women and men involved in crisis pregnancies. The more people who can register and donate, the more lives will be touched, changed and transformed. Plus, our Race for Life is an ideal setting for folks in the community to come out, make new friends, and have fun. We always love meeting new people!”

Turning Point’s fundraising portal (https://www.crowdrise.com/2016raceforlife) allows participants to register for the event and also accept donations from family, friends, co-workers and other acquaintances. The organization hopes this crowdfunding method meets their goal of raising a total of $42,000.

Since opening in 2000, Turning Point has assisted thousands of women in the greater San Diego area. TPPRC’s services include pregnancy tests, health consultations, ultrasounds, pregnancy options counseling, pregnancy and parenting education, fatherhood mentoring, and much more.
