Authenticateit Enters Strategic Agreement with GS1 Malta

Global protection platform, Authenticateit, partners with GS1 Malta to further protect brands from counterfeiting.

Melbourne, Australia, April 06, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Authenticateit has made its state of the art, track and trace and consumer engagement platform available to all GS1 Malta members following a recent partnership agreement.

Global increase of grey importing and counterfeiting has resulted in a growing need for improved operational efficiencies and visibility of supply chains. A member of GS1 Global, GS1 Malta joins GS1 members, - GS1 Singapore, GS1 Australia and GS1 Russia in partnering with global track and trace platform, Authenticateit.

Of the partnership, GS1 Malta CEO, David Calleja Urry said, “We have been looking for a partner in the traceability and serialisation space for some time now, and feel Authenticateit is a leader in this space. Authenticateit’s ability to track even raw materials from the point of sale and beyond, as well as its powerful consumer engagement capabilities, made it the logical choice for our organisation. We are proud to introduce this cutting edge technology to our members.”

Engaging with governments across multiple sectors and locations, GS1 designs and implements global standards and solutions for improved efficiency and visibility of brands’ supply chains. GS1 Malta hopes the new partnership will help facilitate its members to leverage GS1 standards for traceability, recall and anti-counterfeit deployment.

In highlighting the importance of the partnership, Gennady Volchek, Authenticateit CEO, said, “GS1 Malta and Authenticateit share a similar vision in aligning industry sectors to global serialisation standards. We feel this partnership will improve GS1 Malta’s members’ supply chain operations, protecting their intellectual property and supporting consumer engagement.”

“With the market fragmented with an estimated 300 authentication solution providers, interoperability with industry standards is key to selecting a serialisation and traceability method”, GS1 Malta Chairman, Godwin Micallef, added.

GS1 Malta will include traceability and serialisation on their agenda during a regional meeting for MEMA in November, in addition to further events that GS1 Malta will be participating in throughout the year.
