PHM-CEE Delivers Nearly $1m USD of Life Saving Cancer Medicines to Macedonia Patients

Less than one year old PHM-CEE, a Macedonia NGO, leads in helping cancer patients fight the disease.

Skopje, Macedonia, April 07, 2016 --(PR.com)-- PHM-CEE, a newly formed non-government organisation (NGO) for Central and Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, announces its first project: The delivery of no-cost cancer medicines and antibiotics to the Ministry of Health's University Department of Oncology Skopje Hospital.

Working with Direct Relief, a USA based humanitarian aid organisation, PHM-CEE was able to provide the University Department of Oncology Skopje with chemotherapy medicines and antibiotics in February, 2016.

PHM-CEE signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Direct Relief in late 2015 that includes the countries of Serbia and Macedonia, and then quickly worked to deliver the life-saving cancer medicines and supplies.

"The financial burden of today's modern cancer treatments is a challenge to people the world over. We worked with the University Department of Oncology Skopje Hospital and Direct Relief to bring into Macedonia the joint benefits of cost relief and greater access to life-saving medicines," said Dr. Venko Filipce, managing director of PHM-CEE. "More than $890,000 USD in medicines have been delivered, providing care for hundreds of patients in need," he continued.
