United Way of Lake County’s Dine to Donate Fundraiser to Provide 60,000 Meals to Residents in Need

Mentor, OH, April 29, 2016 --(PR.com)-- A total of 41 Lake County restaurants donated a portion of their sales from Thursday, April 21, 2016 to United Way in support of their county-wide Dine to Donate fundraiser.

Dine to Donate is part of United Way of Lake County's annual spring Feed Lake County food drive which kicked off March 1, 2016 and runs through May 6, 2016.

Dine to Donate is in its third year and continues to grow since its 2014 inception where 23 restaurants participated and $5,678 was raised. In 2015, 32 restaurants participated and $7,904 was raised. Early results indicate this year’s fundraiser is slated to raise $15,000, nearly double the amount raised last year.

According to TJ’s on the Avenue owner Craig Pulling, “It was a busy day here, especially at dinner. I was very happy to be able to support United Way of Lake County by participating in Dine to Donate and we look forward to doing it again next year.”

More than 31,000 families in Lake County rely on food assistance, and United Way of Lake County helps support more than 50 local community food pantries.

“Every dollar donated provides 4 meals to a family in need,” said Tami Lewis, Director of Marketing and Communications for United Way of Lake County. “With early Dine to Donate results in, we’re estimating the ability to provide 60,000 meals for the community. That makes a big impact on the lives of our residents in need.”
