Igor Iankovskyi Met with Jamala to Congratulate Her with the Victory in the Eurovision Song Contest

On the eve of the day, commemorating the anniversary of the Crimean tatar genocide, Igor Iankovskyi, philanthropist and founder of the charitable foundation The Initiative for the Future met with Jamala, the Ukrainian winner of the Eurovision.

Kiev, Ukraine, June 03, 2016 --(PR.com)-- On the eve of the day, commemorating the anniversary of the Crimean tatar genocide, Igor Iankovskyi, philanthropist and founder of the charitable foundation “The Initiative for the Future” met with Jamala - the Ukrainian winner of the "Eurovision Song Contest 2016," being of the Crimean Tatar origin herself. The purpose of the meeting was to express the commendations to her musical talent and congratulate with this important victory.

Felicitating Jamala Igor Iankovskyi stressed: “Jamala, this year you have offered an incredible musical performance, agitated the hearts of millions of people by your own family’s singing history, family that witnessed first-hand the Crimean Tatar tragedy. Indeed, this truth is impossible to silence. Your talent is a powerful force for the whole world to perceive! Regardless of the language, each and every person on a planet felt your pain, true emotions framed by the unbelievable vocals that rained from the deepest depth of your heart. I believe that your important mission triumphant winner of song competition "Eurovision Song Contest" will make a huge difference for the Ukrainian culture and will provide it with the new momentum for the high noon and dynamic development!”.

While discussing the future creative plans of Ukrainian singer, Igor Iankovskyi invited Jamala to take part in the inter-governmental cultural project dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the independence of Ukraine and the 25th anniversary of establishing the diplomatic relations with the Republic of Hungary. The Days of Ukrainian Culture in Hungary are scheduled for the autumn 2016. “I’m sure that your honorable quality of the Peace and Goodwill Ambassador of the Ukrainian people is the best to represent the musical culture of our country,” noted Igor Iankovskyi.

Iankovskyi Foundation and Ukrainian singer Jamala connects successful partnership - in April 2015, Jamala talented multi-task, at the invitation of Igor Iankovskyi, participated in one of its funds international projects – "The days of Ukrainian Cinema in Paris," where Jamala represented to the French audience the film "Guide" in which she played a major role. During the press-conference in Paris, held on that occasion, Jamala has not only answered the journalists’ questions, but also elicited the tremendous applause of the French press-corps by the spontaneous performance of the legendary song by Edith Piaf "Non, Je ne regrette à rien," made with her incredibly potent vocals.

Philanthropist Igor Iankovskyi is consistent in his support of the talented Ukrainian youth, making his contribution to the promotion of the Ukrainian culture abroad. This very moment the world-famous Cannes Film Festival is being explored by the group of ten young Ukrainian film-makers, members of the NGO “Contemporary Ukrainian Cinema”, whose journey has been financed by Igor Iankovskyi. The group includes Nariman Aliev, a talented director of the Crimean Tatar origin, who attended the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, likewise under the support of the philanthropist. This year on Berlinale Nariman Aliev participated in the official selection of the festival, entitled Generation. Under the Cannes Film Festival Nariman Aliev is presenting his movie Sensiz (“Without You”) in the Short Film Corner section of the festival.
